Sir Alex Ferguson has been taken to hospital after falling unwell at Old Trafford shortly before Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Liverpool FC.
According to reports, the 84-year-old was moved to hospital as a precautionary measure, with sources stressing that it was not treated as an emergency situation.
Ferguson, who managed Manchester United for 27 years in one of football’s most successful managerial reigns, regularly attends matches from the club’s directors’ box.
No further update has been provided on his condition following his admission, though club officials remain optimistic that he will make a swift recovery and return home soon.
The legendary manager has previously faced serious health challenges, including a brain haemorrhage in 2018, from which he later made a recovery after intensive treatment.
Ferguson was reportedly seen at the stadium earlier on Sunday before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
A worrying moment for a football icon, with the world of sport wishing him a speedy recovery.
