Hammers Bolster Defence With Deadline-Day Arrival From Chelsea.

West Ham United have secured the loan signing of Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi until the end of the season, BBC Sport reports.
The 27-year-old France international completed a dramatic deadline-day switch to the London Stadium, with West Ham paying a ÂŁ1.7 million loan fee. Although Disasi began his medical on Friday morning, the deal was delayed after West Ham were forced to submit a deal sheet, earning a two-hour extension to finalise the transfer.
Disasi arrives as reinforcement for Nuno EspĂrito Santo’s defence, with the Hammers currently third bottom of the Premier League table after 24 matches, sitting six points from safety as they battle to avoid relegation.

Speaking after completing the move, Disasi expressed his determination to help the club turn their fortunes around.
“I’m very happy to be here, to have this opportunity. I’m just ready to fight and to play games,” said the defender, who has earned five caps for France.
“It’s an exciting challenge. We know the club is not at the place it should be, but I’m here to help the team and bring what I can to achieve our goal.”
The defender has endured a difficult spell at Chelsea, having not played a senior match for over a year. He was placed in the club’s so-called “bomb squad” after failing to secure a move last summer and being deemed surplus to requirements by former head coach Enzo Maresca.
Although Disasi later returned to under-21 and first-team training, he did not make a competitive appearance for the Blues.
Disasi joined Chelsea from AS Monaco in 2023 for ÂŁ38 million and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, where he gained valuable Premier League experience.
