Nigerian youngster Peter Onuoha secures first European move after impressive NPFL debut with Kun Khalifat FC.

Nigeria youth international Peter Onuoha has completed a one-and-a-half-year transfer to Gonyeli SK, a club competing in the AKSA Super Lig (First Division) in North Cyprus, Sportblits.com reports.
The 20-year-old forward was previously on the books of Kun Khalifat FC, Owerri, during the ongoing 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, having joined the club from Remo Stars at the end of the 2024/2025 campaign.
Onuoha Impresses in Debut NPFL Season
During his first NPFL season, Onuoha scored three league goals for Kun Khalifat, performances that quickly attracted interest from European-linked agents.
His pace, attacking instinct, and goal threat stood out, paving the way for his move to Europe.

Transfer Facilitated by Ifeanyi Anaemena
The move to Gonyeli SK was facilitated by former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Anaemena, a three-time NPFL champion.
Anaemena retired at the end of the 2024/2025 season, winning his third league title with Remo Stars, before transitioning into club management as Sporting Director of Kun Khalifat FC.
Anaemena Explains Deal After Agency Switch
Last week, Anaemena stepped down from his Sporting Director role to fully focus on player agency, and Onuoha’s transfer marks his first completed deal.
Speaking to Completesports.com, Anaemena said:
“I took Peter Onuoha from my former team, Remo Stars. I saw his quality and potential, which is why I brought him to Kun Khalifat.
It didn’t take long before his talent began to show. My Saudi Arabia and Cyprus partners secured this deal for him.”
He added: “I am happy for him and delighted that my transition from club management to player agency is already bearing fruit—faster than expected. All glory to God.”
