Nigerian striker Terem Moffi emerges as a key target for Celtic’s winter transfer plans.

Celtic are actively searching for attacking reinforcements this January, with Nice striker Terem Moffi now emerging as a top target. The 26-year-old Nigerian international is reportedly unsettled in France, and clubs like Porto and Besiktas have also been linked with potential loan moves.
According to Stephen McGowan of The Herald, Celtic are closely monitoring Moffi’s situation. The club view him as a strong option to bolster their firepower amid a competitive title race in the Scottish Premiership.

Moffi’s season in Ligue 1 has been challenging. After a 3-1 defeat to Lorient in December, Nice fans confronted the squad bus, targeting Moffi and other players. The club subsequently placed him on sick leave for a week as a precaution.
The striker’s contract at Nice runs until summer 2027, but the French side appear willing to allow a short-term loan departure if the right offer comes. Celtic have already strengthened their attack this winter with the loan-to-buy signing of Tomas Cvancara, but the club still sees the need for more attacking options to regain the Premiership lead.
With Moffi’s quality and Celtic’s ambition, a January move could be a win-win for both parties.
