Experienced Nigerian midfielder joins Swedish champions on short-term deal.

Super Falcons midfielder Halimat Ayinde has completed a move to Swedish Damallsvenskan side BK Häcken, marking another major step in her European career, Sportblits.com reports.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder signed a contract that runs until the end of the season, with an option for an additional year. She joins Häcken after her most recent spell with FC Rosengård, one of Sweden’s most successful women’s teams.
A Familiar League, A New Challenge
Ayinde is no stranger to Swedish football. She arrived in Sweden in 2018 after stints in the United States and Belarus, before featuring for Asarum and Eskilstuna.
Her move to FC Rosengård in 2022 proved highly successful, as she helped the club win the Damallsvenskan title in 2022 and 2024.

BK Häcken Hail Ayinde’s Experience
BK Häcken football director Martin Ericsson believes Ayinde’s presence will significantly strengthen the squad.
“It is a player with great experience who is joining us now,” Ericsson told the club’s official website.
“Hali is qualified and knows what it takes to play at the highest level and achieve success.”
He also highlighted her versatility and tactical intelligence.
“She is a fast player who is confident with the ball, signed as a six but who can also play in the defensive line.”
Ayinde Ready To Compete And Win
Reacting to the move, Ayinde expressed excitement about her new chapter with the Gothenburg-based club.
“It feels like this is the right place for me to continue developing but also compete and win more titles with the team,” she said.
She also emphasized her work ethic and leadership qualities.
“When I am on the field, I always want to give my best and contribute with leadership.”
“I am also not a player who is easy to predict, but I have a lot in my game.”
International Pedigree
Ayinde brings vast international experience to BK Häcken. The former Delta Queens midfielder has won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations three times with Nigeria and has featured in two FIFA Women’s World Cups.
Her arrival adds quality, depth, and leadership to a Häcken side aiming to remain at the top of Swedish women’s football.
