Okechukwu brings vast experience to the position, having enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Nigeria. He was part of the 1994 AFCON-winning squad and also claimed Olympic gold at the 1996 Atlanta Games, two of Nigeria’s greatest football achievements.
Enyimba chairman Nwankwo Kanu welcomed his former 1994 Super Eagles teammate back to the club, describing the appointment as a homecoming and a dream reunion for the People’s Elephant.
The move is expected to strengthen Enyimba’s long-term sporting vision, combining elite experience, winning mentality, and deep understanding of Nigerian football at both domestic and international levels.
