Super Eagles Midfielder Joins Foxes to Boost Promotion Push.

Leicester City have officially announced the signing of Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo on a loan deal, as the Foxes strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.
According to Sky Sports, the 29-year-old Nigerian international completed his move on Monday, with the club confirming the transfer shortly after. Aribo arrives at the King Power Stadium bringing a wealth of experience from both the Premier League and Sky Bet Championship.
Aribo joins Leicester after spending four seasons with Southampton, where he made 111 appearances across all competitions, featuring regularly in England’s top two divisions.

Speaking to Foxes Hub, the midfielder expressed his excitement about the move:
“For me, it’s amazing to have got it done and I just can’t wait to get going. I’ve always known the squad is good. I’m so certain about where we can get to and what we can do together. It’s just good to be a part of it.”
Born in Camberwell, England, Aribo began his professional journey with Staines Town in 2014 before earning a move to Charlton Athletic in 2015. He established himself as a key player for the Addicks during the 2016/17 season, performances that earned him a transfer to Scottish giants Rangers.
During his time in Glasgow, Aribo made 149 appearances, scored 26 goals, and enjoyed significant success, including Rangers’ first league title in 10 years (2020/21), a Scottish Cup triumph in 2021/22, and a memorable run to the UEFA Europa League final, where he scored against Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville.
On the international stage, Aribo has earned 34 caps for Nigeria, making his debut against Ukraine in 2019. He was also part of the Super Eagles squad that finished runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The midfielder is expected to link up immediately with his new teammates, with Leicester preparing for their upcoming Sky Bet Championship clash away to Birmingham City on Saturday, 7 February.
