Nigeria name 23-man squad as international matches moved to Turkey amid Middle East tensions.

Head Coach Eric Chelle has named a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming international friendlies against Iran national football team and Jordan national football team, with key stars Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman leading the list.
The fixtures, initially scheduled for Amman, have been relocated to Antalya, Turkey due to ongoing military tensions in the Middle East. Nigeria will face Iran on March 27 before taking on Jordan on March 31.
Chelle’s squad blends experience with fresh faces, as regulars like Maduka Okoye, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, Frank Onyeka, and Samuel Chukwueze return, while new call-ups include Emmanuel Fernandez, Philip Otele, and Collins Yira Sor.
The invitation also sees the return of goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo, while established names such as Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, and Raphael Onyedika strengthen the squad across defence and midfield.
The selected forwards highlight Nigeria’s attacking depth, with options including Simon Moses, Paul Onuachu, and Akor Adams, alongside Lookman and Chukwueze.
The friendlies offer Chelle a crucial opportunity to assess squad depth, integrate new talents, and fine-tune tactics ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures, as the Super Eagles continue preparations for a busy international calendar.
