
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Rema has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Los Angeles.
The global music sensation will share the stage with an all-star lineup that includes Tyla, Future, Katy Perry, Anitta, and BLACKPINK member LISA as FIFA prepares for one of the biggest entertainment spectacles in football history.
FIFA confirmed the exciting announcement in an official statement released on Saturday through its social media platforms.
According to FIFA, the 2026 edition will introduce a historic first with three separate opening ceremonies taking place across Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles as the tournament is jointly hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
FIFA stated:
“For the first time in FIFA World Cup history, a new benchmark will be set as three spectacular opening ceremonies unfold.”
The organization also praised the star-studded lineup expected to entertain fans around the world.

The ceremony in Los Angeles is scheduled to begin 90 minutes before kickoff, with fans expected to enjoy a massive blend of music, entertainment and football culture ahead of the opening match.
