Gunners hold talks as Premier League leaders target prolific Argentine striker.

Arsenal have reportedly held exploratory talks over the potential signing of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, according to talkSPORT.
The 25-year-old forward, who won the treble with Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, could be available for a fee of €100 million (£86.8m).
Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta, who has a close working relationship with Alvarez having brokered his move from Manchester City to Atletico Madrid, is leading the discussions.

Sources suggest that Barcelona are also interested in the Argentine international and are currently seen as favourites to secure his signature. Alvarez still has four-and-a-half years remaining on his contract in Spain, following his 2024 arrival at Atletico.
Since joining Diego Simeone’s side, Alvarez has scored 40 goals in 85 appearances, adding to the 20 goals in 67 Premier League outings he registered at City.
Arsenal’s current striking options, including Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus, have only combined for six league goals this season, while Kai Havertz has struggled for minutes due to injury.
With the Gunners seven points clear at the top of the Premier League and still in contention on all four fronts, adding a proven goal-scorer like Alvarez could strengthen their title-winning credentials.
