Portuguese tactician tasked with Premier League survival amid turbulent campaign.

Nottingham Forest have appointed Vitor Pereira as their fourth manager of the season, agreeing to an 18-month contract amid a turbulent campaign in the Premier League. Pereira takes over following the dismissal of Sean Dyche, who was axed after a goalless draw with bottom-of-the-table Wolves. Previous managers Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou were also let go, highlighting the club’s managerial instability this season.
A club statement confirmed, “Nottingham Forest is delighted to confirm that Vitor Pereira has been appointed as head coach on an 18-month deal.” The 57-year-old Portuguese coach now faces the critical task of keeping Forest out of the relegation zone, with the club sitting just three points above danger and 12 matches remaining.

Pereira’s first match in charge will be next week’s Europa League play-off first leg against Fenerbahce, though his primary focus remains Premier League survival.
Pereira arrives with a wealth of experience, having previously managed Porto, winning back-to-back league titles, as well as stints at Fenerbahce, Shanghai SIPG, Al Ahli, Corinthians, and Flamengo. He also has prior experience working with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis during his time at Olympiacos. Despite saving Wolves from relegation in 2024-25, Pereira was dismissed in November 2025 after a poor start. Now, he faces the challenge of stabilizing a Forest side plagued by managerial turnover, with fans hoping his expertise will steer the club to safety.
