France international commits his future to Bayern Munich, ending speculation over transfers to Real Madrid, PSG, and Premier League clubs.

Dayot Upamecano has officially extended his contract with Bayern Munich until 2030, the Bundesliga champions announced on Friday.
The 27-year-old French defender, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2021, has made 180 appearances for the club and won three Bundesliga titles.
“I’m really happy to be staying at Bayern and continuing to play in this team. We’ve got a great team and a great coach. We’ve got big goals together,” Upamecano said.
“I give my all for my teammates in every training session. I want to keep a clean sheet in every game and I want to win as many titles as possible with Bayern.”
After a challenging start in Munich, plagued by injuries and inconsistent form, Upamecano has flourished under manager Vincent Kompany, developing into a regular starter for France, including at the 2022 World Cup final against Argentina.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund praised the centre-back, saying, “He has developed into a truly world-class defender and leader here at Bayern. The whole package he brings is hugely valuable for our squad. We’re happy he’s staying with us.”
The new deal also includes a substantial signing-on bonus and a release clause effective from 2027, ending months of speculation linking him to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and several Premier League clubs.
Bayern currently lead the Bundesliga by six points and have already qualified directly for the Champions League last 16, with Upamecano set to remain a cornerstone of their defence in the years to come.
