Taiwo Awoniyi was the standout performer as Nottingham Forest claimed a 3–1 victory over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge.
The Nigerian forward set the tone early, rising highest to head home a precise cross from Dilane Bakwa, giving Forest the lead.
Forest doubled their advantage in the 20th minute after Awoniyi was brought down in the box by Malo Gusto. Igor Jesus stepped up and confidently converted the penalty, sending Robert Sánchez the wrong way.
Chelsea had an opportunity to respond before halftime when they were awarded a penalty following a foul on Jesse Derry, but Cole Palmer saw his effort brilliantly saved by Matz Sels.
Awoniyi later sealed the victory with his second goal, finishing neatly from a delivery by Morgan Gibbs-White, making it three for Forest.
The 28-year-old now boasts four goals and one assist in 14 league appearances this season, highlighting his growing importance to the team.
Chelsea grabbed a late consolation through João Pedro in stoppage time, but it did little to change the outcome.
A clinical display from Awoniyi as Forest secure a memorable away win.
