Victor Osimhen could undergo surgery after Galatasaray confirmed the striker suffered a fracture in his right forearm during their UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.
Osimhen picked up the injury early in the game at Anfield and was withdrawn after the break following medical checks. Galatasaray later confirmed the Nigerian forward was not allowed to continue due to the risk of a fracture.
A statement released on the club’s official website revealed that hospital tests carried out after the match confirmed a fracture in his arm, with a cast already applied. The Turkish champions added that a final decision on whether surgery is required will be made in the coming days after further medical evaluation.
Galatasaray struggled without their star striker as they suffered a 4-0 defeat on the night, with Liverpool progressing to the quarter-finals with a 4-1 aggregate win.
