Ex-international backs Chelle’s decision to invite Rangers defender.

Former Nigerian international Simon Zenke has praised Eric Chelle for inviting Emmanuel Fernandez to the Nigeria national football team ahead of the upcoming four-nation tournament in Jordan.
Fernandez, who has impressed with Rangers this season, earned a place in Chelle’s 23-man squad after a series of consistent performances in the Scottish League.
Zenke revealed he had been tracking the defender’s progress for months and believes the call-up is fully deserved.

“He is a very good player, no doubt… he has not done badly at all.”
The former forward highlighted Fernandez’s key strengths, describing him as strong in the air, quick, and solid in tackles, qualities he believes are becoming rare in modern football.
“Fernandez is strong in the air, has great pace for a defender, and can tackle effectively… I believe he will be a great asset to the team.”
With his versatility and growing experience, Fernandez is expected to add depth and competition to the Super Eagles’ defensive setup as Chelle continues to rebuild the squad.
