Inter Milan are ready to make Manuel Akanji’s loan move from Manchester City permanent at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Since joining the Nerazzurri on loan last summer, Akanji has quickly become a cornerstone of Inter’s defence, impressing with his versatility and tactical intelligence.
According to Fabrizio Romano, via FCInter1908, Inter plan to activate the €15m buy clause in June to secure the 30-year-old on a long-term deal.
Akanji has featured in 19 Serie A matches this season and is included in Inter’s squad for tonight’s Champions League clash against Arsenal.
The Swiss international’s performances have convinced the club that he is a key part of their long-term defensive plans, making the permanent switch a priority.
