The statement highlighted Enyimba’s rich history at both domestic and continental levels, while acknowledging that the club is currently struggling in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
“In recent times, the club has experienced a decline from its traditional standards of excellence,” the statement read.
“The administration of Governor Alex Otti is determined to restore Enyimba’s pride of place as a dominant force in Nigerian and African football, while repositioning the club for professionalism, sustainability, and strong corporate governance.”
Deutsch brings extensive coaching experience to the Aba-based club, having previously managed Abia Warriors, Solution FC, and other teams in Nigeria and Cameroon. He holds CAF A, B, and C coaching licenses and has been recognized with awards including the Nigeria National League Best Coach in 2025.
“The appointment of Coach Deutsch is part of the strategic efforts to reinvigorate the technical direction of the club, strengthen its competitive edge, and lay a solid foundation for long-term success,” the statement added.
Governor Otti expressed confidence that Deutsch’s experience, technical competence, and professional discipline would significantly contribute to rebuilding Enyimba and restoring the club to its position as a powerhouse in Nigerian and African football.
