
Ghana Coach Confident Ahead Of Algeria Clash
Ghana national under-17 football team head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed strong confidence in his squad ahead of their opening match at the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Starlets will kick off their Group D campaign against Algeria national under-17 football team at the Mohammed VI Football Academy.
“We Can Compete Strongly Against Any Team”
Speaking before the match, Ogum praised the balance, chemistry, and mentality within his squad.
“This team has a good balance of talent, discipline, teamwork and determination.”
The former Asante Kotoko coach believes the players fully understand each other and are prepared to fight together throughout the tournament.
“The players understand each other very well, and they are prepared to fight for one another on the pitch.”

Ogum also stressed that Ghana’s steady improvement both tactically and mentally gives him confidence heading into the competition.
“Technically, we have quality, tactically we are improving steadily, and mentally the players are showing maturity.”
