Speaking on the move, Lawal said:
“I know Viktoria primarily from their performance in European competitions. This offer really interested me, and I see it as a step forward in my career. I look forward to helping the club as much as possible and getting to know my new teammates.”
Viktoria Plzen’s sporting director Martin Vozábal welcomed Lawal’s arrival:
“After Rafiu Durosinmi left, we wanted to increase competition in our offensive line. Lawal is a speedy player who can play as a striker or on the wing. We are glad to have completed the transfer and can count on him for the weekend league start.”
The Nigerian attacker will be expected to add firepower to Viktoria Plzen’s attack as the club begins its domestic league campaign.
