Super Eagles of Africa stand firm amid CAF controversy, threaten permanent withdrawal.

Senegal have officially refused to return the 2025 AFCON trophy and medals and insist they will never consider doing so in the future.
Despite CAF Articles 8, 83, and 84, the Senegalese Football Federation argues that these regulations should have been enforced at the time of the incident, not retroactively.
Reports indicate that the federation is prepared to withdraw completely from CAF competitions, vowing never to participate again if forced to hand back the trophy and medals.
In a strong statement, officials said:
“Football is for the fans, not for politics.”
The controversy marks yet another major milestone in the AFCON 2025 saga, as Senegalers stand firm against CAF’s decision to award Morocco the title following the final walk-off incident.
The standoff now raises questions about the future relationship between Senegal and CAF, and whether legal battles at the Court of Arbitration for Sport will escalate further.
