Senegal star blasts “corruption” after Morocco awarded title by CAF ruling.

Sadio Mané has issued a powerful statement following the controversial AFCON 2025 ruling that saw the Morocco national football team awarded the title over the Senegal national football team.
“What happened has gone too far. This is not the football we fight for, not the Africa we believe in.”
The Senegal forward did not hold back, raising serious concerns about governance in African football.
“There is too much corruption in our game, and it’s killing the passion of millions of fans across the continent. Players give everything on the pitch, but decisions off it are deciding matches and trophies.”
Mané also expressed disappointment beyond just the result, stressing the wider impact on the sport across the continent.
“I’m deeply disappointed — not just for Senegal, but for African football as a whole. We deserve better. The fans deserve fairness, transparency, and respect.”
His remarks add to the growing backlash against the Confederation of African Football, as players and fans continue to react to one of the most controversial decisions in the history of the tournament.
