Federation rejects CAF ruling and prepares legal challenge over Morocco decision.

The Fédération Sénégalaise de Football have firmly rejected the decision by the Confederation of African Football to award the AFCON 2025 title to the Morocco national football team, insisting they will not hand over the trophy.
In an official statement, the Senegalese federation made it clear they strongly disagree with CAF’s ruling, which declared the Senegal national football team to have forfeited the final and awarded Morocco a 3–0 victory.
The federation also confirmed that they are taking the matter further by filing an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, marking the next stage in what is becoming a major legal battle in world football.
This move signals Senegal’s determination to fight the decision at the highest level, as tensions continue to rise following one of the most controversial rulings in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations.
With the case now heading to CAS, the final outcome of AFCON 2025 remains uncertain, and the dispute could set a significant precedent for how football governing bodies handle post-match rulings and appeals in the future.
